Hi, I am trying to find information on Amos One Road's military service during WWI. Amos and my Great Uncle, Ralph Becktel served together in Argonne France. During a battle, my uncle saved Amos' life. Sometime after the war, Ralph Becktel and his sister (my grandmother) were invited to Roberts County, South Dakota and made members of the Sisseton/Wahpeton Tribe. I have pictures of the them in the ceremonial dress they were given. I am a published author and am doing the researcher for a book chronicling their lives. Amos One Road was an incredible man. I am honored to have even the slightest connection to him. Any information or help would be appreciated. my email is groll313@aol.com

Welcome to our website. We have records on 3 men named Amos One Road No. 1 Amos One Road's parents were Tasinahotawin and unknown spouse. His aunt was Martha Good Feather . she remarried to ? Shephard. his uncle was Howling Bull.
No 2's parents were Wamnonhnca Koyakewin(Nancy One Road-shepherd) and Cankuwayzidan(Charlie One Road) siblings: Wahcankato-Charles One Road( 1867-1936) Matomaza/John M. One Road (1870=1943.) Benjamin One Road (1876- 1898) Amos One Road/Mahpiyana OR jingling Cloud (1884 TO 1937.) Kezia One Road (1886-1896) Hattie one Road Dumarce (1888-1923) Louis One Cloud (1891 - 1892)/His maternal Gr. grandfathers were Mahpiyasna and Mato Maza(Iron Bull) Mahpiyana married Wamndiwin Wastewin(Good Eagle) Feather woman and they had 7 children.
It would help us if you could provide a birth date for Amos one road so we can tell if #1 is the same or a different Amos One road. We will check the WWI enlistment/draft registration database to see if he is listed. This should help to clear this up.

I am sory, but I could not find any record of Amos registering for the draft for WW! in Roberts County, and Charles Mix County,SD at ancestry.com whose databases I personally think, suck! I did find an Amos One Road born Apr. 1883 in South Dakota.he died in 1937,SD. he is buried in the Greenwood Presbyterian Cem. at Greenwood, Charles Mix, SD. Parents were Peter one Road, mother was nancy One Road. his siblings(1900 US Census for Lee Twp, Roberts,SD) list Peter One Road age 60, b. Minn. Nancy One Road age 52 yrs. b. Minn. Children including Amos(b. Hpr. 1883, age 5 yrs. old, son) John age 30 yrs. b. SD Jacob age 21 yrs b. SD Hattie age 12 yrs b. SD Martha One Road age 22 yrs. Sister-In-law b. SD
is there any other information you have on Amos that may help us? I am sorry but you have to be a close relative of Rr. one Road, which you are not, to obtain his WWI service Record.
